So i decided to share some more knowledge on film photography.. This is an amazing camera (i MAY be biased). Hey I was recently given a old Praktica MTL 3 to start my film camera journey! Loved this video really helpful but have noticed that my camera is missing the ASA/DIN white numbered section under the shutter speed settings, any idea of how i could work out the ISO without it? Is it best to test out a role of film and see how they come out? Any help appreciated!
ну и чем она интересная? обычная зеркалка! а на счёт круче насчёт боке так это естественно так как 58 мм фокусное.тот же никон тех же годов уже был с электромеханическим затвором и приоритетом диафрагмы!
Доброго дня, чи зможете відремонтувати Praktica LTL? Не спрацьовує затвор на довгих (вище 30) витримках, на інших спрацьовує 90% випадків. Також посипалась світлоізоляція на задній кришці. Якщо ремонт можливий, скільки це може коштувати?
Хороший обзор. Есть такой и когда-то отщелкал им несколько пленок. После Зенита-Е показался немецкой машиной после жигулей: хороший светлый видоисткатель, покрывающий почти весь кадр, удобная система фокусировки, металлические ламели вместо тряпочных а значит, не дубеют на морозе, не сыпятся и не просвечивают. Относительно встроенного экспонометра оригинально он рассчитан на ртутные батарейки 1.35 вольт, которых сейчас нет, но их можно заменить алкалиновыми на 1.5 вольт. Что будет давать погрешность само по себе, плюс вольтаж такой батарейки падает со временем, внося еще большую погрешность, которую рассчитать практически невозможно. Потому, даже если оригинальный после 40 лет сохранил работоспособность (например селеновые точно не сохраняют), из-за проблем с батарейкой лучше либо внешний, либо мыльницу или смартфон и ими замерять параметры.

практика неудобная спусковая кнопка затвор срабатывает как небольшое землетрясение…вечная выдержка это что то новое..не помню сколько процентов видимости у практики в видоискателе реального поля…но зенитовские очень темные и 62% ни в пи..у ни в красную армию..практика была надежней да и синхронизация на 125…пожалуй и все.

Hi Solene. Enjoyed your video. As the other William said, the A (automatic) and M (manual) setting on the lens simply sets the aperture to open aperture metering or stop down metering. You are better to leave the lens setting on A for Automatic open aperture metering as this will stop the screen from going dark when you close down the aperture which is what happens when you set the lens to the M setting. In A automatic mode the screen will remain bright even when you close the aperture down to f16 for example. The lens will only actually close the aperture down to f16 a fraction of a second before you take the photo as you press the shutter button with the lens in the A setting. Much better to always leave the switch on the lens on the A setting and not on the M setting, that way you will always have a nice bright screen to focus with even when you have your camera set to a small aperture like f16. Hope this helps and that my answer wasn’t too confusing.
This camera was my very first purchase of many cameras that I know that I will own from now on. In fact, I’ve got this beautiful treasure just today, and I am so excited to be able to use this one, as I know it will bring me lots of joy and memories. Thanks for uploading these videos! They have been an absolute major help.
…..P.S. about the film wind lever. This has two functions. It «winds on» the film to the next frame and it also «cocks» the shutter ready for you to press the shutter button and take a photo. So therefore we say «wind on» the camera to the next frame. When you come to the end of the film we «rewind» the film back into the film casette using the «rewind» lever on the on the top left side of the camera having FIRST depressed the rewind release button on the base of the camera. It is vital to always depress this button on the base of the camera before attempting to rewind the film or you could damage the mechanism of the camera otherwise.
The word you are looking for for charged, is «wind» and «wound on» if you set the lens to A the viewfinder won’t go dark when you are focusing at small apertures, it’s not automatic exposure just an automatic diaphragm. So the viewfinder will be bright you still have to set speed and f stop.
Looks like a great camera. I had also considered getting it as my first film camera since I had seen a couple on etsy, but in the end I went with the pentax spotmatic. Great review! In the future maybe also include some of the pictures you took with it:)

у практик слабое место это ее взвод, часто ломается (блокируется) механизм приемной катушки. Радует, что объективы типу такумара на практике правильно работают, на зените только в авто режиме и закручивается не до конца (на зенит 12 такое).
My grandpa just gave me LTL 3, so I have few questions for you 1. Part of the camera that comes under the film is kind of dirty and looks a bit scratched to me, will it affect my photos? 2. I have some other kind of lens than these two, inner ring has numbers 1.8-16, outer ring has numbers 0.33-infinity, how should I use them? thanks in advance
Камера для практически тепличных условий. Я в недалекой молодости занимался экстремальным туризмом. И однажды «повезло», выпала из рук на землю, затвор начал некорректно работать постле первого падения с высоты 1,5м. Я специально ее искал, по отзывах была типа самая отличная вещь по соотношению цена/качество/надежность. Так и не отремонтировали, глюки механики со временем повторились, шторки очень нежные. Подумал, что просто не повезло, приобрел вторую. Эту стянула собака со стола в чехле, и опять та же картина… Камера очень боится воды, а экспонометр вещь практически непотребная, нужна только на первых порах. По качеству оптики может немного лучше Helios 44-2 58мм F2.0, но не лучше Helios 103 из дальномерного Киев 4м. Самая живучая вещь, которую я беру в руки это Зенит В(60-ых годов выпуска!!!) + объектив Helios 44.Ну а из «советских» для меня лучший обычный Киев 4м во всех отношениях. Прошли огонь, воду и медные трубы реально, начиная с 1990!!! Постле Praktica я больше не верю в никакое «немецкое» качество, нет такого понятия ни в чем у них, чего не скажешь о «японском», там действительно шедевры, что в оптике, что в электронике, да и автомобили дают Европе фору во всем. Добрый день.У меня такой вопрос.Без батарейки он будет роботать? Рычажок для звода должен роботать без батарейки? Или же должен быть замкнутым..? У меня нету батарейки на нем,и рычажок немогу прокруть.. это от батарейки зависит?
