What you are essentially paying for when you throw down $500 for a belt is the not only he impeccable craftsmanship but the brand recognition. So if it is too good to be true on eBay or any other site, it probably is!
all comments saying the fake one looks better, bare in mind that the fake one will not have the high quality of genuine leather + stitching + the glue + the brass spray, and later after wear it only a few times the belt will break quickly + colour on the brass will rust, I’m telling you this as in the past I bought a top looking fake Gucci belt and not wearing it that much and just only less than 7 months start showing the true cheapness slowly fall apart. It’s better not to have it at all if you can’t afford or do money saving then buy the real one as when you wear it you have more confident because it’s real.

In other words the appearance will change if you polish it and it will look «glossy» Between the wife & I we have 4-5 of these GG Marmonts. All purchased in store. If there’s 21 numbers in the serial code, then it’s real. All fakes that I’ve encountered have 19, 23 or 22 serial numbers. Gucci has also sent a statement that ALL of their serial codes have 21 numbers. That’s an easy way to spot a fake.
I mean its smart for gucci, to make $30 belts and sell it for 400,so that they can make more $30 belts, and the real reason why people buy simple things for alot is really simple and its for the brand.
