Pokemon Sapphire Speedrun LIVE at Awesome Games Done Quick 2020! (With Commentary!)
I did a Speedrun of Pokemon Sapphire Any% Glitchless live at Awesome Games Done Quick 2020! Pokemon Sapphire is a brutal game, but it is also a very rewarding run. There are so many things that can go wrong as well as frame perfect tricks that under normal circumstances are hard to pull off, let alone in font of an audience of 150,000 people… I gave everything I had preparing for this run, and even though I hit the ugly side of RNG, I’m happy with how I played and had a great time! Thanks to my couch (Shenanagans, Pokeguy and Arayalol) for helping me with the commentary and those who watched either at the event or from home! Thanks to SporadicErratic for hosting!

Games Done Quick is a semiannual video game speedrun charity marathon. In the summer, there is Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) and in the winter there is Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ). I actually did this challenge a few months ago, and I had a time of 118:45. That included ALL the Pokemon between Ruby and Sapphire though, as well as a complete Living Dex.
Still, 45:50 is a really good time, well done!

While this is technically ‘just’ a recap animation of your first complete Nuzlocke, you turned it into a narrative short film with tragedy and victories. I seriously can’t even say how much I love watching this.

An unbelievable time I managed my Sapphire run in just over 69 hours although I ruled out the day care and just grinded and used rare candies. Had a massive issue with taking Moon Stones off Lunatone, though, costing me about 6 hours of in-game play time so you had great luck with your Solrock! That’s how I felt in my SoulSilver run where my first post-elite four capture was a Chansey holding the Lucky Egg:)

Hey, I’m currently doing a Professor Oak’s challange in Pokemon Theta Emerald EX and before 1st badge (and with only like half pokemon catched and evolved in this section) i already have 111 pokemon! man, so many. I’ll be watching your Prof challanges while doing one xD
Quick note: Mud Slap has base power of 20.
Water Gun has base 40 Power.
However, STAB bonus changes Water Gun’s power from 40 to 60. Super Effective Mud Slap now does a bit more than 40 base power. You don goofed.
I did a Ruby+Sapphire Co-op POC and Pokemon not listening to me was an even bigger problem because Grovyle would also not listen to either trainer, since I used a third file just to get the final starter. Ended up using like 16 Rare Candies on it just because battling with it was so annoying.
Much better video than diamond & pearl POC as that order video was hard to follow I think you are aware of that anyways it would be nice if you added a list of pokemon in the video on the left or right which you tick them off each time you catch a pokemon it just makes it easier to follow the video just some feedback it’s still good video though

This isn’t really a challenge, I expected that by «using Wally’s team» you meant sticking to how they were at different points in the game not just using the same Pokémon from his final team earlier and evolving as you see fit.
For example, you normally battle Wally just before the 3rd gym and he still only had a ralts on his team so you should have done the same up until at least this point, he then sets out to get stronger after this so you could then start adding other members to your team. This is just you playing through normally for the most part
