  • I am needing clarity around posting transactions when in Bank Feed. When you «add» do you then create an invoice for the transaction? I am assuming «add» means that the transaction is already in the physical Bank Account with the financial institution and so QB needs to know of its existence? Kindly help. In addition, as you post transactions when in the Bank Feed does it automatically get to the account once you choose a category for that transaction? Thank you. Growing to love QB!!!:)

  • You have been so gracious to provide all of us with the videos to help with passing the QuickBooks certification exam. Thank you so much for this. However, it is felt that some things are lacking. What about Part 7, Payroll, and Part 10, Customization/Saving Time and Shortcuts? Another issue is that while covering each Part in the «Exam Objectives» taken from the Intuit QuickBooks Certified User Guide, the questions important to me are not being addressed. Such as WHY something is done. Some of the videos do include this and these are great but what about the those that do not? I, for one, would greatly appreciate more detail about that.

  • Thanks so much this is a great help for me starting out. I have an Accounting Diploma from technical school and I was going to go and finish getting my accounting degree but situations happened and I didn’t. I am trying to start my own bookkeeping business and this is some helpful information.

  • Hello i am in UAE i download US version, but at initial stage where we create new company file «easy step field » most of fields are limited to word as here in UAE Tax number is of 15 digit but in quikbook desktop pro it takes only 11 digit

  • I just came a cross this video and would like to sign up for it, however, when I click sign up, it takes me to a site that states I have to pay monthly prices based on which package I choose. Am I doing something wrong? How do I sign up for the accountant part if it takes me off of that screen and on to regular quick books?

  • Quickbooks has a badly flawed data base that breaks often and slows way down when you use it for a few years. Prove me wrong. Their customer service is among the worst in the industry. Prove me wrong. It may seem «easy to use» for a newbie but it lets that newbie do just about ANYTHING even though they are messing the books up (more so than other accounting programs). Prove me wrong.

I have signed up for QBOA to take the online certification, but I feel like this is for those who are currently bookkeepers or have some type of background? I dont have background knowledge and am just looking at changing careers and starting my own bookkeeping virtual business. Where would I go to learn all the basics before starting this course (the lingo, definitions, explanations etc.) Thanks!

  • I feel so sad because they asking for a number outside of the Philippines which i cannot providebtw i am graduated as Bookkeeper here in the Philippines and i am more interested yo purse more my course more than i learned from school which just limitedwe do manually and not using Quickbooks( no idea about this website) so i am very interested.   • I am setting this up for a Real Estate business. Do you suggest I set up each transaction as a customer? I would do it at the time a contract was entered. I don’t see any other way to have the income in the right place. Also, how do I distinguish between commissions earned by the company and commissions earned by the owner individually?

  • I have been using QB desk top for about 15yrs. I have just switched from desktop 2015 to QB Essentials on line. After watching your tutorial I think it would be better for me to go back to desk top. I was running on my Mac in parallels for windows because their was no QB for Mac when purchased in 2015. I only wanted online because I needed to use the iPhone feature with having arthritis in my hands. How would I go back on desk top for mac 2020? Your tutorial is awesome!!!!

  • Hi Morgan, this is very helpful. I have a degree in Accounting Technology but no experience at all. I graduated two years ago, currently employed in a different field lol but now I decided to pursue accounting and use my degree so this really help me a lot, at least I can have certificate that I can show to my possible client in the future.   • Hi Hector so I signed up and doing the training before doing exam but I hit a wall. The banking center has been changed but the training is not updated so its not jelling. The training says there are 3 tabs (for review, reviewed and excluded. It seems the reviewed is now renamed categorized but that is not all, the exercise to do batch match can not be completed because the batch open is not showing like in the training banking screen? How can I see how tom do this now?

  • This is such a great free resource that not enough people know exist! I have a video explaining this process and have multiple people (U.S. based) who say the training tab doesn’t show up. Do you have any idea why that would be? I tried researching it but couldn’t find the answer, so told them to call Intuit.

  • Stating that you only need your Federal ID if you are using payroll is incorrect. Using the Accounts Payable portion, you need to process 1099’s each year. This requires the Federal ID as well. The tutorial should state that it IS necessary.

  • When it comes to expenses like utilities, I’m wondering how (or if) I should enter mine.
    My business operates out of my personal home, and when I did my taxes last year, I was able to write off a percentage of the mortgage, electric, etc based off how much of the home was dedicated space for the business. I don’t have a dedicated utility bill for the business.

  • im an accounting graduate with 4years of experience in corporate world. Thinking of starting to be a bookeeper, and your videos help a lot for me to start my baby steps. To be honest Im nervous, because I dont have in depth experience in handling bookeeping or taxation. I believe the first move is the hardest part, and I need to overcome it.

  • I very much appreciate this video. I just got a new job using QuickBooks desktop premier 2020. In my last job which lasted 10 years I was using QuickBooks online and they are completely different. I have used QuickBooks desktop over 10 years ago but of course I don’t remember much about it. This course was an excellent refresher and helping me find my way around. I had a chance to watch the whole video before starting my new job. I have been doing bookkeeping for 30 years in various programs, but it is always hard To start a new job where there is no training and no prior bookkeeper to talk to or get answers from. I literally have to learn about this company by looking around at prior transactions and doing my own internal beginning audit.

  • Hello Cindy. You are really doing an amazing job I must say. I’m new to QuickBooks and having completed your tutorial on QuickBooks desktop, I am trying to practice with my company’s records (we have been making use of Excel before now). I happen to have problems working with the information because we are into bakery business (bread precisely) in which case production is continuous. Materials are bought in and stored as inventory from where it is issued to production and this happens on daily basis. My confusion therefore is how to track this inventory from the supplier to the store, and from the store to production. There is always stock of inventory even at the end of an an accounting period and production is not in batches but continuous. I am an accountant and doing this in Excel is not a problem but I want to know how I can handle it in QuickBooks. Thanks in anticipation of your quick response.
