In this video, I demonstrate on how to get Epona without Epona’s Song or actually riding on Epona. This is only possible on the 3DS (enhanced) port of the game..
The only possible explanation for this new bug I could think of is the following:
In order to save CPU, GPU and/or RAM usage, objects in the game that are far enough away will simply disappear. This makes it impossible for Ingo to ride across the finish line, making you one happy yet easy winner.
