This video shows how to make custom size regions in SimCity 4..

In C:\\Users\\Computer\\Documents\\SimCity 4\\Regions, add a folder, naming it the new region name. In the folder, create a Bitmap image naming it «config», and set its width and height in the attributes tab to the size of the new region (measured in terms of small cities). Then, coloring the pixels, 4×4 pure blue pixels form large cities, 2×2 pure green pixels form medium cities, and each pure red pixel forms a city.Having saved the Bitmap, load SimCity 4 and in the load city tab, the custom region should be found. If it isn’t there, the Bitmap wasn’t done correctly.

Основная задача симулятора SimCity — строительство города. В качестве мэра мы будем действовать так, чтобы создать успешный мегаполис и чтобы все или большая часть его жителей были счастливы. Начало игры начинается с решения главных проблем: строительства инфраструктуры, зонирования и обеспечения ресурсами. Нам, вернее, жителям города понадобятся электроэнергия, вода. Так же, чтобы не задохнуться от отходов, нужно организовать вывоз мусора и слив канализации. В отличие от других частей Сим сити, здесь мы можем взаимодействовать с другими игроками-мерами в регионе и продавать им ресурсы или покупать услуги. По мере роста населения, капитала, строительства определенных типов зданий, нам будут открываться новые возможности, которыми мы не преминём воспользоваться, ведь главное удовольствие от процесса игры и счастье жителей города, верно?

Sergio funtast, Я Конечно не вовремя, но можно спросить, у меня такая проблема при запуске симсити, выдаёт ошибку, «Ошибка выделения -173858400 байт памяти. Simsity TM будет закрыта. [1006],, Лицензия в ориджин есть. В ютубе этой ошибки нету, может ты сталкивался с этой проблемой? Если да то напиши что делать надо пж.
ну кто ж так делает? Как вижу все это, глаза кровью заливаются. Вначале стоит быстро нарастить число жителей, настроить квадро-сетку для жилых домов и заселить быстро этот муравейник, а когда прибыль будет по 20к в час, то застраивать свободную зону как захочется сносить ненужное и достраивать освободившееся пространство, а то с такими темпами, город будет развиваться в 10 раз дольше.
У меня Более 300 часов в эту игру наиграно.
Есть одни моды вот например: показывать сколько нужно рабочих, расшерение карты, новые дороги, размещение шосе по городу у те где машины вьежають. Ну я подпишусь:) это лучше чем всякие нубы Римасы. Удачи

Но еще одна проблемка ставлю качество на 1080HD и все написано даже название твоего города расплывчато.
Ты какой прогой снимешь? Могу посоветовать Camtasia Studio 7 мне ее тоже посоветовали, но сам я ею еще не пользовался. Попробуй!!)
Зеленый город? Ну ладно, я уже думал что кто-то построит чисто Омега город, но не судьба.
Но я посмотрю за тем как вы будете делать зеленый город ха-ха.
Потом прийдется строить индустриалку в другом городе.
Люблю симсити! Нет люблю САУНДТРЕК симсити. Я бы и не играл в неё но эта музыка… Ммммм

fiz exatamente como o vídeo mas não funciona. e não adianta falar que fiz o bitmap errado ou algo errado, pq eu não sou burro. apenas não funciona, talvez seja pq tenho a versão pirata, mas isso não faz sentido, apenas não funciona, deslike no vídeo

Only issue so far is how in one corner of a map I’m making, it has annoyingly merged a cluster of 1×1 and 2×2 cities I laid out in a cross shape in the config, and has instead aligned them as a square of 2×2 cities. I can’t seem to get it to recognise my layout.
Just to clarify…….I have Win 7 OS and using this technique with Sim City 4 Deluxe edition. Works perfectly. Make sure when drawing the map out you are using the pencil tool with the smallest size setting. Also make sure to save the.bmp file in the correct location i.e. Documents SimCity4 Regions (Create your own folder and name it whatever).
When saving the.bmp file, make sure you name it config.
Hope this helps for anyone who is having trouble.

I might be a bit late for this but what exactly can u not do? If you can make the.bmp file, right click on it and edit. re-size the art board within paint (24px x 24px). Add custom colours to pallet i.e 255, 0, 0 = red, 0, 255, 0 = green, 0, 0, 255 = blue, Make sure you use the pencil tool at the smallest size to draw with and keep the area size matches the colour you are using
Blue = 4×4 (Large City)
Green = 2×2 (Medium City)
Red = 1×1 (Small City)
@thepayne0 A few suggestions:
Did you name your file «config» in lower case?
Did you make sure the city boundries you painted were the correct size? (IE: no blue or green areas with odd numbers of pixels.)
Did you create a folder for your region?
PROTIP: I used Paint(dot)net to create my maps. It’s simply a custom version of paint that uses the.net architecture, and it’s just as good as Photoshop and Fireworks, if not better considering it’s free.
The UI is really clean and you can easily adjust the canvas size. It also has a pixel grid which is perfect for making regions, seeing as each pixel represents a city on the.bmp file.
It’s great, 10/10 for SimCity, really recommend it.
Thanks for the video! I just tried this and it worked great! Also, I know what your screensaver is. It’s the construction of the new I-35W bridge in Minneapolis, the one that collapsed 5 years ago (From when I posted). I know what because I live in the Twin Cities.:D
@cwebb123321, I can assure you it isn’t fake. Just make sure to zoom in on paint as far as possible for accuracy, then make sure the blue is in bits of 4*4 pixels, green is in bits of 2*2 pixels, and please note that red is a good filler. Just check and specify your custom colors are as according to the above video.
I have done as you did but it wont show when I want to load it, like it wasn’t there. I put it in the regions folder and named if config, made it all blue and saved it to config. How did you save it and what did I wrong?
@eslington Thank you so much for this, I have been going bonkers and all I needed was ctrl+shift+alt+r and choose the right grey scale image, that simple (although it takes what seems to be forever to create and load the city (Sydney). As I always say ‘ if it don’t fit, make it fit and as long as it works’
@SimCityEnthusiast Wow, i didnt know you could go back into god mode, thank you man, this was a very informative video. Can i also ask, are you able to pull up a region that you already have worked on and add to that?
is it any different in sim city 4 deluxe edition, cus im following these instructions exactly and my region simply does not show up…i even tried creating a region and then editing the bitmap, that didn’t work either.
@Clambercty I’ve seen on some fansites some fan-created terrains. They’re based on a black and white image of the region’s topography, just as the boundries are determined by a red-green-blue bitmap as shown in this video. I can’t remember where to look off the top of my head, but do a little searching on the bigger fansites and you’ll find some.
This is one heck of an epic region with a lot of special mods and cool features. I’m not sure if you have a video on this, but would you mind putting up a video that talks about your mods and where to get them? That’s A LOT of special stuff, and would be cool to be able to build something of my own:) you’re a huge inspiration for me.
i get this weird thing where i raise the Terrain with the raise tool… on each side of the avenue…and go to slope it with monorail… and one side flattens out…the other does the slope…. is that because i don’t have a slope mod…? just curious…:)
