  • You should try boiling water and adding the 2 or 3 Kool-aid packets to the water without adding the conditioner. I did that method on my medium blond hair and it lasted for a really long time. My sister also tried it this way and she had to cut it off bc it wouldn’t come off

  • this will b my 2nd tyme dip dyeing with kool-aid and yes one sure can actually dye the hair i was like ohh cool i can see a difference already and this method is a lot safer for the hair now ima use 5 yes 5 packets laff out loud of the unsweetened grape:)

  • I done that to my hair about 4 years ago but I put two packs of kool-aid in boiling water and put my hair,in it for about 5 minutes then took it out.. it was bright red for a year lol I had to take it out myself by putting my hair in boiling water for about 10 minutes and it took the kool-aid out

  • I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news here, but I have done both methods, the boiling water and the conditioner. I had a very bad experience.. I have light brown hair. I used blue kool-aid. The first time I did it, I used the boiling water method. All was good. It looked awesome. I had only dyed a small section of my hair, cuz I was testing it out. So, I decided to go all the way and do the rest of my hair (just the ends). I wasn’t satisfied with the results, cuz it wasn’t dark enough. So I decided to try the conditioner method. BAD, BAD, BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!!! I used VO5 volumizing conditioner and blue kool-aid. After rinsing the mixture out of my hair, my hair became hard and crusty. I only did the bottom half of my hair. It felt like I had some sort of build up or hair gel in my hair that had dried up. I washed and washed and washed, and that dull crusty feeling would not go away! I could brush it out when it was dry, but my hair looked very dull and just didn’t feel as soft as it was before I dyed it. I ended up having to boil my hair in water and baking soda, 3 times and then wash it another 3 times with palmolive dish soap and then with a clarifying shampoo, to get rid of that nasty crusty crap in my hair. Then stupid me, I decided I really liked the blue look, so I went and did it again, but with the boiling water method this time, since it worked so good the first time. BIG MISTAKE!! HUGE MISTAKE! That nasty crusty feeling came back. And I can’t get rid of it. Nothing works. The ends of my hair stick together when it’s wet and it’s next to impossible to comb out the tangles, even when i use conditioner. I have had to trim about 5 or 6 inches off my hair, to get rid of split ends and that nasty damaged look. My hair used to be very shiny, soft, and down to my butt. It is no longer like that. I wish I never did this. I hate my hair now. And let’s not forget the blue stains all over my bathroom floor, from all the dripping! My hair is still turning towels blue and dripping blue, after 3 weeks of washing! There’s even a blue stain on my couch cover! I don’t know if it’s because of my hair type or what, but I seriously do not reccomend trying this people. I have pretty fine hair. (fine as in thin). It’s light brown. I did the same things everyone else did on line and it ruined my hair. I’m not trying to be rude or cause any trouble. I’m just putting this out there, so nobody else has to go through what I went through. It’s very depressing to see your once beautiful hair, now ruined. And I have never dyed my hair with anything before I tried the kool aid. I have always been against hair dye and bleaching cuz it damages your hair. I thought Kool-aid would be a safe alternative.

  • Over the summer of either 2017 or 2018 my sister and I both dyed our hair with kool-aid. She did here’s red and mine was teal (even though it turned green). We just added kool aid and water and boiled it, and it worked fine. It stayed in for about 2 months, but it probably would’ve stayed in longer if I didn’t use a different hair dye on it. I’m gonna try it get it green again tomorrow, so hopefully it doesn’t actually turn teal this time.

  • I did this to my WHOLE head with DARK RED kook aid when I was like 13. It took 2 weeks for me to not look like Strawberry shortcake and about 3 months for it to completely go away. Junior high was an interesting time for me.

  • waitwaitwait wtf this video is the reason i dyed my hair pink a couple months back, and this was before i became a subscriber. ahh shook!

i just realized that this video was posted by you and now i love you so much more! ahaha, the pink looked so good, thank you for the tutorial!

  • I tried this yesterday, and it didnt work for me, I have strips of blonde hair and that’s the only part that got dyed blue, the color I was using. Not saying it doesn’t work cause it does work, but it just didnt work for me and I have dark hair

  • Almost sad that semi-permanent dye costs triple the cost or more and doesn’t last and Kool-aid or Hawaiian punch last longer and is cheaper but don’t let it get out, they may try to raise the cost on the drink mix stuff. Remember celery used to cost practically nothing but then on internet people were doing celery drink challenges…(drinking the juice for a month and then reporting health differences…gee, who knew eating what humans should consume is good for you! hahahaha.

  • I’ve never EVER gotten the urge to do this with my hair or even really ever liked it on other people, but I freaking LOVE this. I’m so tempted to do it, but I feel like I’m too old and too «mom» to pull it off. I really love it though.
